Q1. How many Classified Ads can I post?
As many as you like but they need to be legitimate and not duplicated ads. Only one ad per item. Please read our terms and conditions here.
Q2. Will the Space to Spare Classified Ads always be free?
Some Ads will always be free. At the moment we are building the database so all are free. At some stage we will need to look at implementing a price structure.
Q3. How can I contact you if I need help?
You can use the contact form after you have read the FAQ’s and still can’t solve the problem. Listing your ads is about as easy as we can make it so we’re fairly confident our members shouldn’t have any difficulties.
Q4. How are any disputes resolved?
Any disputes that may arise between people placing the rental space wanted or available classified ads are to be resolved between those parties. Space 2 Spare accepts no responsibility for any disputes arising between users of this site. We are only a conduit for people advertising and monitor the site to our best ability to ensure bogus advertising is kept to a minimum.
Q5. How do I remove an inappropriate Ad from your site?
We monitor the site closely and remove any Ads without consultation with the advertiser if we feel it is outside our terms of use agreement. If you think we have let one slip through please notify us through our space2spare contact form or the “report” button at the side of the advertisement and we will make a decision on whether or not it should be removed.
Q6. How do I add, change or delete an Ad?
Register first and then you can log-in at the top of every page to add, edit or delete ads through your own control panel.
Q7. Should I Use a Street Number For Advertising?
For the privacy of private advertisers we think that providing only a street name without a number should be necessary to give a general location of the listing. Once genuine contact is made through the email process then you can decide how much information you are comfortable with providing. For commercial advertisements we would definitely suggest adding as much detail as possible. Once you have signed up you can add, edit and delete ads through your control panel.
Q8. How do I remove my Space 2 Spare Ad?
At present you will have to log-in and pause your ad. There is a new version coming that will let you delete immediately from your control panel.
Q9. How do I add pictures to my listing?
You add images by Logging In, Going to “My Dashboard” then selecting the edit icon (yellow pencil) next to the listing you want to modify. At the bottom of that page you can add or delete images as required and also update your text.
Q10. Why doesn’t my Google location map show up?
Either you have spelled your location details incorrectly or else Google maps aren’t covering your location. Also ensure you have your Street Name, Suburb, State and Country to get the most accuracy. Once again, to maintain your privacy we recommend excluding your street number for private listings.
Q11. Why won’t my photos upload?
There is a limit of 1mb per image. If your picture is larger than this, no image will be displayed but your ad will still be published.
Q12. I’ve found a bug in your site. How can I contact you?
Please contact us by our contact form and we will attempt to fix the bug. We have ironed out quite a few problems but are aware there may be more so please let us know so that we can make this site more user-friendly for our visitors.
Q13. I can’t see a category applicable to my spare space advertisement. Can you make a new category?
Submit your request and we will be happy to add it if we think it would be a good inclusion. If you can’t find a suitable category you can always utilise the “other” sub-category.
Q14. How long do the ads last?
At present indefinitely but this will be downsized to a sub 365 day listing depending on what any research shows up as the most beneficial for both members and visitors.
Q15. Why are there only a few categories and sub-categories showing?
There are numerous space wanted and space available listings available to choose from once you register. The categories & subs only appear once an item has been advertised in that category.
Q16. The password that was automatically generated when first registering is too complicated to use. How can I change that?
It is easier to copy and paste the password that is originally sent to you into the login page when you first register. After you have logged in, go to your dashboard (top right of page) then click on “My Profile” which is located under the “Post a Classified!” link. In this area you can change your password to something easier to remember.
Q17. What can I do to increase visitors to my ad?
It is important to be descriptive of your item in the title including region. This becomes part of the URL for your page which helps search engines index the page. Also use keywords and phrases in your description and add these keywords to the tags when placing your add.
